Times, Days, Dates
The Heke is open all year round, with the exception of Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Wedding ceremonies are held in our Barrel Hall, or weather permitting, can be held outside. Your cocktail hour and canapes are usually held outside, followed by an evening meal in our restaurant. We are licensed until 10pm. We are unable to accept bookings for weddings on Saturdays from December - March.
Capacity
We are able to accommodate large and small weddings.
Costs
The total cost of the wedding will be venue hire fee + minimum spend on food and beverages. The amount depends on the day of the week and month of the year. Once we understand what you envisage from your big day, we will provide you with a tailored quote.
Surrounded by gardens, The Heke Restaurant is perfect for a unique and relaxed style wedding.
Your guests will enjoy our world class food, award winning beverages with stunning views of the gardens. Our restaurant is undercover but can open on all sides to the outdoors. We also have generous garden seating when weather permits. Enjoy relaxing under the shade in the warmer months, or gather around our fireplace in winter - The Heke restaurant is a versatile venue to suit every wedding.
THE HEKE RESTAURANT
With 4 acres of gardens, outdoor and shaded seating, and beautiful Maori art signposted as you enter, The Heke is the perfect Waiheke Island wedding venue.
Your guests will be able to mix and mingle, on arrival and during Cocktail Hour. Fun optional additions include our Golf Simulators, Landrover Bar, and Gin Bar in the gardens. If you have children amongst your guests they can enjoy the sandpit, mini kitchen and jumping pillow!
THE GARDENS
Overlooking our Brewery and Distillery and surrounded by whisky barrels, the Barrel Hall is the perfect setting in terms of exclusivity and ambiance. Opening out to the gardens and a terrace, it offers it’s own luxurious and spacious bar and bathrooms.
The Barrel Hall can be included if you hire the entire venue. It is perfect for the ceremony and the after party, with J or band. For smaller weddings, this may be set up to seat up to 60 guests for dinner, or stand up style for larger groups.
