The Hekefest 2026
A celebration of Kiwi culture, craft beer and epic live music!
An unforgettable day, starting off with epic covers band CASSIUS followed by legendary DJ GENERAL LEE until 11pm, keeping the good vibes flowing into the night.

General Lee is one of New Zealand's most respected and renowned DJs. He mixed New Zealand's first Ministry of Sound CD in 2011 and again in 2013, both of which were a resounding success. Lee has done 350 radio shows for Ministry of Sound in New Zealand, and is currently the host of George FM breakfast every Friday morning. He is recognised for his uptight sets, crowd interaction, diverse track selection, scratching and CDJ trickery. General Lee enjoys mainstream success and underground respect. He has recently played alongside: Example, Netsky, Chase & Status, Fedde Le Grand, Sneaky Sound System, Freemasons, Groove Armada , Roger Sanchez, TV Rock, Goodwill, Dirty South, Axwell, Tommy Trash, Moto Blanco, Mobin Master, Klass, Tommie Sunshine, Those Usual Suspects, and Aston Shuffle - to name a few. General Lee has been selected as the DJ of choice for international superstars including Coldplay, Temper Trap, Eva Longoria, Robbie Williams, and Duran Duran.

Superbowl 60

Valentine’s Day at The Heke
The meaning of Valentine’s Day has mostly been lost in the fog of time, although Wikipedia has quite a lot to say about it; but we think any reason to remember why we love someone, and to tell them, is a good reason.
We’re going to order in extra fish Te Matuku WAIHEKE ISLAND oysters and offer a glass of bubbles to anyone who lets us know they have booked for lunch or dinner here on Valentine’s Day. There’ll be some little chocolate hearts wrapped in red foil to share too.
If you’re looking for an idea for a Valentines Day date on Waiheke, why not book our Golf Simulators for an hour, followed by delicious food and drinks, or maybe a tasting flight or two.
We’re open all day from 12 noon - 8 pm with the kitchen closing at 7.30 pm.
